A business trip to China. A fight for their lives. Will Angelique and David become pawns in a werewolf war or does fate have something else in store?
David Johnson and Angelique Meadows are colleagues on a business trip to China. They’ve worked together for years, but neither has been able to admit their true feelings for the other. This business trip represents a landmark deal in their careers and an opportunity to reveal the truth of their hearts. Just as love blooms, disaster strikes.
The man they’re meeting with is Yuen Gao, CEO of a multi-million dollar company. The world sees him as a successful businessman. His pack sees him as their Alpha. Rogues, secret experiments, and the undeniable pull of his mate force him to reveal his secret. Is his love strong enough to overcome the pain of loss?
Hearts unite and break as trusted friends become enemies behind the scenes. Love longed for is lost to be replaced by a bond deeper than words. Loyalties are tested as ghosts of the past step into the present.
Can true love survive My Thoughts:
This book is very well written and feels like a solid book without faults in the plot. It was a bit slow in the beginning but build up nicely as you continued in the story. It has a very good plot and a very interesting new Shifter/Were world with a totally new take on things. It is also totally original and exotic with the Asian/Black/White main characters. This is the first time I have read a book with an Asian main character and it really worked. The exotic feeling also came because some of the action took place in China. That was very interesting and I felt that I learned new things about the culture, I really liked that.
The main characters are very well written and with depth. You felt like you got to know them.
Angelique is a very smart business woman, with her head in the right place and a nice curiosity of the world. She is a bit on the soft side at times but can be a tough nail as well.
David is a great character with a darker very interesting story with lots of layers. I love this character and he made the book for me, I love reading his story and would want to read much, much more about him. He is just one interesting male hottie with baggage.
Gao is a smart CEO, stunningly handsome that does everything right and is just perfect in all ways. And there is the rub for me; he is just too darn sweet. I like characters with a bit more faults and layers. I don’t know one real person that is sweet and nice 24 hours a day every day. I guess he is the dream man that everybody wants but doesn’t really exist.
Over all very good books, well written with a new take on the shifter/Were world. This author is creative and knows how to think new original thoughts and put that on paper. The plot in the book was also very good with sneaky twist and turns. If Nulli Para Ora continues like this in here writing I think she will be a big name in the PNR world quite soon.
This book is very romantic and if you like sweet romantic books; this would be the perfect book for you. I like it a little darker so it was in places a bit too sweet and lovey-dovey for me so it will therefore not get a full pot from me. It felt like a true romance novel with lots and lots of romance.
Over all a very entertaining read I rate it 3,5 stars.
