Will her heart be the only thing that stands in the way of saving her sister’s soul? Or will she always be bound by sacrifice?

My Review: ( Spoilers alert be warned.)

Book provided by author for an honest review.

In this book we meet Acelynn that made a deal with the devil to save her sisters soul. She has wandered the earth for 80 years looking for Satan’s son so she can kill him. Acelynn is a troubled soul that carries a lot of “scars” and gilt from a rough upbringing and a drunken dad. Acelynn is smart, as learned many languages and tries to enjoy life best she can.

I really liked the basic story here, the first half of the book was really awesome and very well written. You got into the book fast and I liked the character and the world it was set in, you were eased into this world in a very nice way. It is set on a biblical theme with Satan, angles, demons and then spiced up with vamps, unicorns, shifters and such.

Overall I liked this book, but I did have some things I was not so happy with. When she meets the man she falls in love with and they get in bed the first time we get nothing. The author has built up to it and she just stops short and pick up the next day, WTF?!?… When Acelynn was in bed with a random guy earlier in the book it was much more described, also that she had to be on top because she has so “scars” from before. And here with the love of her life we get absolutely nothing. I was sooo not happy about this, I felt cheated in a big, big way.

Also this book is labeled Paranormal Romance in big letter, in a pnr I expect sex. I expect to read about the first time the H/h get in bed with each other and every other time they do too. This is not a PNR to me, I would say more in the Urban Fantasy genera with no sex and also overall the way it is written.

I also was not a big fan of the end here, but that can be fixed in the next book I hope. Other than that it was over all a very good read, solidly written with a good plot. I give it 3,5 stars.

My Review:

What an opening in a book wow! It blew my mind, your just right in there from first page and the  high pace just continues until last page.  This was a fresh of breath air, I have never read anything like it. The book is set in two different times the now and in 2030 with the same people now and then. I was just so captivated and intrigued I could not put it down. Book I read before this one I used 3WEEKS on 3 weeks…. I usually read 2-4 books a week so that was unheard of, it just dragged on and on and on. If it was not a freebie and a friends favorite I quite. What a nightmare, but this Oh this was a dream read. I read it in one sitting and I could not put it down. I cant say how wonderful that felt. WONDERFUL!

The characters were very well written and I loved them both. I feel I got to know them and got fond of the. You were told the story from both sides, Ana in the 2030 and Mike in 2015. Very smartly done and it worked perfectly.

Ana or Bella was smart, a genuinely nice person that was easy to like. I love her inner struggle and her strong feelings.

Mike what can I say, hot as they come and can cook! What’s not to like yes please!! I take 2 of him.

Heat level was supernova, good lord and yum. Oh my. Nobody can with bedroom or up the wall or on the floor whatever erotica like Sotia Lazu, you knows she delivers book after book and this one did not disappoint. Hot damn is all I am saying.

This reads almost like a CR but with a paranormal twist, you have the element of Magic in it that is to my liking. Also the back and forth in time worked very well.

Overall a great read, I enjoyed it very much and could not put it down.

So I am going 5 stars.

There are two other books in this universe. They are all stand alone and I read book 1 Magic Works. I see if I find my old review and post. Book 2 the tenant I have not read but I think I need to. because this is good universe to be in.

Book Review: Dominion (Dominion #1) by S.E. Lund

Synopsis:

When pre-med student Eve Hayden searches for a translator for an ancient French illuminated manuscript she found in her dead mother’s research files, she gets more than she bargained for: Michel de Cernay, a former priest and eight hundred year old vampire and his identical twin brother Julien, a former knight. The manuscript details their death and rebirth as vampires in 1224 during the Cathar Crusade at the hands of an ancient vampire.

Michel wants to prevent Eve from reading the manuscript or becoming a vampire hunter like her dead mother before her. He hopes Eve will instead pursue her studies in music. Unable to compel her to forget him and all about vampires, Michel asks Eve to become his Adept, working cases with him protecting the Treaty of Clairveaux that keeps vampires in the closet and peace between the two species. He also wants her to become his sexual submissive and despite her initial reluctance, Eve is drawn to the idea of submitting to this beautiful vampire.

She also meets his brother Julien, a brash and mercurial opposite to Michel’s calm determination. The temperamental opposite of Michel, Julien tries to complicate the budding romance between Eve and Michel in the hopes of winning Eve for himself. The brothers play a dangerous game of power with an ancient enemy in an effort to prevent Dominion — when vampires rule over humans.

Gifted with paranormal skills, planning to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a vampire hunter, Eve is torn between loyalty to her mother’s cause and her desire for these twins.

Erotic, suspenseful and fast-paced, the Dominion series will keep you turning pages as Eve searches for the truth about her mother’s death, her birth and her desires.

My Review:

When I started to read this book I was so happy, I thought I had found a 5 star book and was ecstatic. The world was awesome, it was set up to be super duper fantastic UF or PNF and I was “Yay a new favorite series like Sookie or Kate Daniels and the likes. I could not have been more wrong.  Well it just when downhill from there………..And ended it ruins to me, I just hate the Dominant/ Submissive stuff. I don’t see the point of it and it ruined a book that could have been sooooooo good for me. Really disappointing since this writer writes really well and the world itself was very good.  I continued with all 3 books in this series , I was stuck in Spain when reading this series with not that many books to read.. If your into BDSM you should give it a try, you may like it. There is also rivalry between 2 brothers for 1 girl.

Giving it 2- 2,5 stars.

Book Review: Beyond the Shadows by LaVerne Clark

41YJNRiDWcL__SX331_BO1,204,203,200_

Synopsis:

He’s immersed in shadows—can she help him fight his way to the light?

Constable Kelly Appleton’s life turns upside down when her partner—the man she secretly loves—is shot. The lines between work and pleasure blur as she helps him recuperate, but frighteningly, his hold on reality loosens too.

After his brush with death, Nathaniel O’Leary questions everything—his life, his relationships, even his recent capture of a serial killer. When ghosts and an ominous shadow come calling, Nate struggles to stay grounded. Suddenly, keeping his hands off his sexy partner is the least of his problems.

As Kelly and Nathaniel work together to right a possible miscarriage of justice, they realize the shadow is a portent of death directly related to the serial killer. Terror strikes when the shadow reveals Kelly is the next target.

With evil closing in, can their love banish the shadows forever?

My Review:

Constable Kelly Appleton and her partner Nate O`Leary is out patrolling with a TV crew in the back when all hell breaks loose and Nate end up shoot and gravely wounded. Kelly that has a huge crush on her partner is at his side in hospital like a shadow. She then take on the responsibility of his rehabilitation when he is released from hospital and moves into his apartment for a week. This is a real hard situation when she is in love with him and he doesn’t do relationship. The sexual tension is sky rocketing to say the least.

 photo tumblr_m43gnwOmGb1qchdt0_zpsac208ade.gif

This is a crime/suspension/ romance book with a paranormal twist. It is really different from what I normally read but I absolutely liked it. We get the PVO from Kelly, Nate and the killer. I usually prefer PVO from only 1 person but this was pretty nicely done. It was quite creepy to be in the killer’s brain and he was a nutcase of dimensions.

Kelly I really liked her, she was kick ass and cool but with real emotions. I loved that she was 6ft tall and rocking it. She is very wary of Nate and their chemistry as she knows he doesn’t do relationships, she don’t want a fling with him.

Nate is scared after losing people in his life and therefore don’t do relationships at all. But he is so in love with Kelly but denies it for the longest time. He also struggles with visions/ghosts after he recovers from the coma.

I think the romance could have moved a little faster here, but when we got it was good stuff. The storyline itself as OK the killer was a creepy guy and the descriptions of the murders morbid stuff. I love morbid stuff.

The story could have been moving at a little faster pace but was all over pretty good. I read this book in 2 sittings in a busy Christmas preparations schedule. So I did like it a lot. I was also set in New Zealand and only the second book I have read there it was pretty exotic to me. I also found it interesting that they didn’t have armed police, we don’t have that in Norway ether. This is the first book I have read of this author and I did like her writing style very much, I am going to keep my eye on her.

I give this book 4 stars.

If you want to know more about this writer from New Zealand here is her website.

Book is available in both ebook and paperback English only here.

Kul kontrast med skinn og broderte blomster, deilig hverdagsantrekk. Blå drømmekjole/ blue dream dress

Norwegian first English below.

—————————————————

As you see I am cheating a bit today as this is clearly not outside my house this evening. Pictures are from Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canarias Island in Spain right before Christmas. I had on this dream of a dress when I was going out to dinner with my hubby. One large advantage of this dress was that I could eat as much as I wanted and it did not show any.lol

The blue princess dream dress was ” love at first sight” and my first buy from this brand. It was not my last ether. Strange that. The color is perfect, I love that blue. The embroidery is so high quality and so is the dress in general I was amazed. It was not ironed after the time in my suitcase that was also a big plus. Dress has a built in bra as well. Jacket is bought used on Insta, I think posted in a vintage Ootd I had a while back. Gladiators are Stuart Weitzman and are super comfy to wear.  The dress is from Chi Chi and named Shay.

I try to make a blog post from Puerto de Mogan in the future, such a lovely place.

What? Chips and Coke on a Monday?

Had finally gotten myself to the grocery store after being bedridden for 3-4 days with a horrible migraine attack.  I was shaky, weak, exhausted and super nauseous after this. Any food I tried to eat during that time did not agree with me ether.  So there I stood on weak legs pretty ready to get out of there. When paying for my chips and coke  I heard behind me “What? Chips and Coke on a Monday?” I replied; I think it be fine, even if I was pretty put out by this comment.

When did it become wrong to buy chips and coke on a Monday? Is this something your only allowed to buy certain days? Has out society gone this far? He continued to talk about exercise, staying fit and going to the gym. I feel Dazed and Confused like the great Led Zeppelin song. I have to say that the person saying these things is usually a very nice guy, talkative and outgoing. I don’t think he even though about what he was saying really. Or maybe he has a bad day or felt insecure. I really don’t know.(Here in Norway you are also supposed to eat candy only on Saturdays.)

I have had migraines since I was 3 years old. After years and years with testing what is best to get you eating again after a long and hard attack. I have found out that salt chips, Ritz crackers the salty kind and coke is the trick. You eat a little a few chips, drink a little over a few hours until the nausea goes away and you tummy is ready for real food. It is years and years behind my shopping that Monday.

I am lucky as  at this point in my life I have pretty good self esteem, I am OK with myself. It comes and goes of course, its not all days I feel just  as awesome when I look in the mirror but most days I am yeah this is OK. But I been thinking about this comment a lot afterwards. Have seen a lot of TV shows lately about youth and have family and friends in that age group too. Adults too for that matter, it is not everybody that has a good self esteem and feel tip top in this “everything needs to be perfect” world it looks like we unfortunately live in now.

Think how devastating a comment like this could be on a teen.  Lots of teen go trough self esteem issues, maybe more now than before. Now everything HAS to be just perfect, something that is not possible on any levels. Nothing is perfect, Nobody’s perfect and we do not live in a perfect world. Nothing goes as planned usually and you don’t learn a thing in life if everything is just perfect. Its the unplanned not so perfect things you learn from mostly. A perfect live must be the most boring life ever, same with a perfect partner. You need something more.

The problem here is if this was said to the wrong person. If this was said to one of the everything must be perfect people, or someone depressed, with a eating disorder, bullied at school, think in their own mind that I am fat or need to lose weight or just had a  delusional disorder about themselves.

The consequences here could be massive and destroy  for someone in years to come, if not forever. Comments like this can burn it self onto your brain, staying there year after year. I had an episode in my teens that did it to me. I was in Denmark, was so happy on holiday. Just bought myself a super cute  shots and tee outfit and new knee high booths that laced up the front. Then a cool group of boys shouted to me in the main street so everybody could hear it “Barrel Tummy“. My life fell apart right there in that street, I just crumbled and the words got burned in my brain. I loved sheet dresses and any kind of form fitted clothes, but did not dear to wear them for a decade. Now I almost only wear that kind of clothes, but it took a long time. I can finally wear what I like without thinking about what others may thing or mean about it. As long as I am happy I don’t care anymore. The most important thing is to feel good about yourself, nobody can do that for you. I find it annoying when people talk like there are age tags on clothes. If there are I have not found a single one. In non of my clothes does it say “can only be worn between the age of 19-25″. Yay for that or I stop buying that brand.

But back to that Monday. The most crazy thing about this whole thing, is when I stood there with my chips and coke I had been on the scale before I left my home. I usually never go on the scale especially after I been having a bad migraine attack like this. I was really sad and upset about my weight standing there as it was far to low, scary low. That is why I replied ” I think it be fine” when he said what he did. That day I was under 105lbs.

I find that extremely  terrifying.

Camilla Renate.

Don’t look at me

Everyday is so wonderful
Then suddenly
It’s hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain
I’m so ashamed

I am beautiful
No matter what they say
Words can’t bring me down
I am beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring me down
Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

To all your friends you’re delirious
So consumed
In all your doom, ooh
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The pieces gone
Left the puzzle undone
Ain’t that the way it is

You’re beautiful
No matter what they say
Words can’t bring you down
Oh no
You’re beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring you down
Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

No matter what we do (no matter what we do)
No matter what we say (no matter what we say)
We’re the song inside the tune (yeah, oh yeah)
Full of beautiful mistakes

And everywhere we go (and everywhere we go)
The sun will always shine (the sun will always, always, shine)
And tomorrow we might awake
On the other side

We’re beautiful
No matter what they say
Yes words won’t bring us down
Oh no
We are beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring us down
Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

Oh, oh
Don’t you bring me down today
Don’t you bring me down, ooh
Today

Fated (Vampire Destiny #1) by Alexandra Anthony

Worst book in history on so many levels. Bad author award to this one.

This was my review a while back:

I am a 67% and I think I am pretty done with it.

There is no actual story just sex and some really, REALLY bad Swedish that is driving me nuts. The writing in itself is pretty nice and if there were more of a story here I be on board with that. But and there is a big no here.

When an author decides to go the route with a foreign language, they need to remember at one point in time someone reads it that can understand that language. They need to get ahold of a native or someone that actually speaks it. There is not much that gets me more cranky than authors that use google translate when they write books… She may have had some help but there are some massive slip ups, I am really glad I found the translations from the author in the back because she had me really puzzled a couple time.. The translation guide in the back of the book gave me a good giggle fit when I read it so that was entertaining.

So here goes:
She uses Knulla dig as a swear word, it is a direct translation of Fk it. It is not a swearword here, we use Fk you or Fk it in English. Swearwords in Swedish is almost same as Norwegian and my personal fav that slips out to many times a day is Fy Faen in Swedish Fan and I think in Danish it is Satan, you can use Satan in Norwegian too. They all means some form of “may the devil take you!”
Knulla dig can not be used as a stand alone, you need to put it in a sentence like “I am going to” first then Knulla dig. That be: I am going to Fk you. With only Knulla! it be like Sex! Sex!

 photo 3116668_zpsab02033c.gif

So to my personal favorite, when I read this sentence I was like WTF??? That was good with the translation in the back here.
Jag har saknat att vara med dig, din Jävla. she translates it to: I miss being with you, fking you. But that is so not what it means. What is translates to is: I have missed being with you, you fuker/bastard. What a nice welcome home sentence, I get a divorce stat.
 photo parkssnubgifs-what_zps6979ad9f.gif

The other funny one is :Du är knulla magnifik, Josephine. Translated by author: You are fking magnificent, Josephine. This don’t mean a thing, it is an incomplete sentence. But the meaning we get from it are. Josepine you are fking awesome in bed.

 photo 849332_zps49c6785b.gif
OK. This Norwegian is done for now.

 photo 1518360_624646044262970_690106678_n_zpse4f21d75.jpg

When I was finishing up here with my links I saw this book was gone from all places and so was author. Then I came across this website.  I decided it was important to post the book review anyway, just to point out a horrible thing that happens from time to time. I have not read the original author and do not know how that book compares.

This is what not to do!! Fraud is fraud. Glad she is gone, she has a few books for sale on amazon but she has announced she has quite writing books. Smart move if you ask me.
